ABSTRACT
This study was carried out on the availability and utilization of electronic resources by undergraduate students of bauchi state university library. Specifically, the study aimed to assess the types of electronic resources available in Bauchi State University Library, examine the extent electronic resources are available in Bauchi State University Library, evaluate the extent of utilization of electronic resources by students at Bauchi State University Library, identify the challenges faced by students in accessing and using electronic resources in Bauchi State University Library, and examine the impact of electronic resources on academic performance and research productivity at Bauchi State University. The study employed the survey descriptive research design. Questionnaire was used for data collection which was raised against a five Likert scale of Strongly Agree(SA), Agree(A), Undecided(U), Disagree(D), and Strongly Disagree(SD), and was analysed using the frequency counts, percentages, mean and standard deviation. A total of 100 respondents were conveniently selected as sample size comprising of librarians and students of Bauchi State University. From the responses obtained and analysed, the findings revealed that the extent of availability of electronic resources in Bauchi State University Library is low. Also, the extent of utilisation of electronic resources by undergraduate students in Bauchi State University Library is high. On the basis of these findings, it was recommended that Bauchi State University should invest in upgrading its technological infrastructure, including increasing the number of available computers and improving the quality of internet connections. Limited access to technology and unreliable internet connections were identified as significant challenges. Addressing these issues will enhance students' ability to access and utilize electronic resources effectively.
